Aug 16, 2017. I pretty much love all the songs on this recording, but I'll admit Being Alive is probably one of my favourite musical numbers ever. As soloists they’re more than adequate, but it’s their work as a team that sounds new depths in “Company” in ways that get under your skin without your knowing it. Company tells the story of Bobby through his friends and girlfriends. Sondheim isn't always easy sing along music (try to sing along to Amy's part in Getting Married - it's a little insane), but it's always fantastic and worth a listen.
